I bet you are just dying to find out what the exact Dota 2 release date is, right? I am totally with you on that desire, but, unfortunately, the company who makes Dota 2, which is the Valve Corporation, still has not yet announced an official and definite release date! However, before you get all worked up, know that what is definite is that this game will see a release date sometime this year in 2012. At least that is what the news was late last year, but I do not have any reason to believe, at the time of this writing, that this is going to change anytime soon. As a matter of fact, the Euro Gamer website featured an article that included a quote from none other than Valve Corporation boss Gabe Newell himself, and in said quote, he confirmed late last year that 2012 would be the release date of Dota 2.

While I know that this is probably not what you had in mind regarding the Dota 2 release date because you are just dying to get your hands on this game and play it as soon as possible, the Valve Corporation has an enormously good reason for this lack of specificity. As it stands right now—exactly as you are reading this very sentence—Dota 2 is presently experiencing a closed beta phase to make sure that when the game does ship, it is going to run very seamlessly. After all, when you do get your hands on Dota 2, you will want to have a game that is going to suck you right in and not a game that is still full of bugs!
We all know that this game is a fantasy-strategy-action mix, and it will be a standalone sequel to the highly popular Defense of the Ancients or DOTA mod for both The Frozen Throne as well as Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. But did you know how DOTA 2 is going to be released? Well, I have discovered that DOTA 2 is going to see a release by way of a download through Stream, which is the Valve Corporation’s content delivery platform. This is significant because DOTA 2, at the time of this writing anyway, still does not have a business model, yet the developer is already looking ahead to making sure that all of its fans—like you and I—are able to get this game in a convenient fashion. I think you should also know that Stream is the platform on which the game has been designed to operate for not only the initial game launch, but also the subsequent update deliveries.
Now, even though the Dota 2 release date is still unspecified, you might well already know that this game is going to run on either Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows and feature multiplayer gameplay. That aside though, I am looking forward to DOTA 2’s session-based, online multiplayer feature, which gives me and my team the chance to completely wipe out my enemy’s fortified stronghold during the course of any given match! I can’t wait for the release date of this game because I want to be able to see for myself how awesome the gameplay for DOTA 2 is already rumored to be. I mean I think it will be quite sweet to say the least, especially when you consider that the view of the game is a traditional, top-down perspective, which is something that I have always enjoyed in real-time strategy games. However, what gets me really excited at this point in time—and mind you that I have not actually played this game, though—is that the gameplay also incorporates leveling as well as an itemization system that you normally only see inside a role-playing game! Talk about the best of both worlds.
I hear your frustration about how the specific Dota 2 release date is still up in the air, but I am doing something at this time in anticipation of whenever said specific date will finally be announced. Though I wish I could play this game right now, I am instead looking to give myself the best advantage to dominate over my opponents by purchasing Dota 2 Ownage System! That’s right: this definitive guide to Dota 2 will help you master the art of ganking, last hit with superior accuracy and crush your opponents with unparalleled map control. I am passionately urging you to do the exact same thing to achieve God-LIKE status!
I am just sitting on the edge of my seat at this point and biding my time until the real Dota 2 release date is finally made public by the Valve Corporation. Until that time, I am going to hone my skills further by playing the Defense of the Ancients mod so that I can be ready for when DOTA 2 comes out!
